What are ETG test strips and how do they work?

ETG (Ethyl Glucuronide) test strips are tools used to detect the presence of ethyl glucuronide in urine samples. Ethyl glucuronide is a metabolite of ethanol, the type of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages. When someone consumes alcohol, their body metabolises it into various byproducts, including ethyl glucuronide, which can be detected in urine long after ethanol is no longer being excreted

The window of ETG detection is partly dependant on the amount of alcohol (ethanol) consumed. UKDrugTesting ETG test strips are set to give positive results for 24 hours after consuming 2 units of alcohol.  Results may remain positive for longer after heavy alcohol consumption.
